Effective delegation is the key to building organizational capacity and strengthening skills of individuals within teams. Effective delegation is more than giving assignments and expecting them to be completed. It is a leadership and communication skill which empowers individuals to act with authority and accountability within agreed upon boundaries.
Effective delegation builds trust and strengthens relationship between leaders and their reports and enables more things to get done. It frees up the leader to do high value leadership activities and empowers the follower to learn and grow while completing assignments and tasks.
This course will cover:
- The challenges and benefits of effective delegation
- The elements within the “implied contract” for effective delegation
- Delegating authority and accountability while remaining responsible
- Delegating effectively to build individuals and teams
