A special memorial honouring Dave Keays was held recently. Dave passed away after a year long battle with cancer on October 14th, 2023.
Joe O’Neill, a TAC colleague based in London, coached with Dave for the Oakridge Reds. They served on the board for over 20 years. Dave was the “equipment guy”, as he had great supplier contacts and was able to negotiate the best price saving the association thousands of dollars.
Dave was a simple fellow. No visitation or wake, no funeral. But as a memorial, players, coaches, executives and parents gathered at Oakridge Upper Diamond for a baseball game, honouring Dave Keays. Everyone was sure he would have enjoyed that.
