professor emeritus

Our longtime colleague, Dr. Kit Silcox (Kit), who is the author of our Milestones strategic planning program, was recently awarded the Professor Emeritus award from Fanshawe College.

His expertise has foundations in his over several decades as a facilitator and corporate advisor. In the private sector, he has worked with trade associations, environmental specialists and many private sector organizations in virtually every economic field, while in the public sector, he has served as facilitator and advisor to numerous educational, health care and social service agencies.

His personal experience as a business owner has contributed to his knowledge of the dynamics of the corporate environment from when he was the owner of a non-ferrous foundry, which he restructured and sold as a successful operation. Kit also operated a company that provided customized executive language training and consultation.

The theoretical basis for his business training originates from his extensive educational background. He has a Doctor of Philosophy in Business degree from the University of Kansas.
From the University of Waterloo, he has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree and a Master’s of Management Sciences degree.  Kit has been a professor and lecturer at Western University, then later a professor at Fanshawe College. He was an assistant professor in the department of economics and commerce at
Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C.

Dr. Silcox’s practical, theoretical and philosophical strengths come together in the MILESTONES program. Some of the largest companies have used Milestones (ex: CIBC, Sonoco Products, Interbrew/Labatt, etc.). So have some of the smallest organizations across North America and in the Middle East – in virtually every economic sector.
